Qubic is a project that introduces an innovative approach to blockchain technology through a consensus mechanism called Useful Proof-of-Work (UPoW). Launched in 2022 by Sergey Ivancheglo, the founder of IOTA and NXT, Qubic combines advances in cryptography and artificial intelligence to improve the financial system. Unlike other Proof-of-Work mechanisms, Qubic's UPoW utilizes miners' capabilities for AI tasks, making the mining process beneficial rather than wasteful. In addition, Qubic implements unique smart contracts that require quorum approval, ensuring that only useful and legitimate contracts are added. Qubic's quorum protocol uses 676 validators (Computors) to handle transactions and secure the blockchain, ensuring reliability and fast transaction times. Oracle machines provide real-world data to smart contracts, enhancing their functionality and reliability. Integrating AI through the Aigarth system, which uses the computing power of miners to train artificial neural networks, Qubic seeks to offer a decentralized, efficient and secure blockchain ecosystem, with commission-free transactions and real-time payment verification.
