Bitcoin and XRP serve different payment and store-of-value roles; daily correlation is not guaranteed even when prices move together.
Bitcoin is secured by open mining and proof of work. XRP is not mined: the XRP Ledger uses a validator consensus that confirms payments in seconds and with tiny fees. That design makes it fast and cheap, but its validator set is narrower than Bitcoin's global miner network.
Bitcoin has no company and no premine. XRP was created all at once (100 billion) and the company Ripple holds a large share released in tranches, while promoting its use in cross-border payments. That brings a governance and legal-context factor Bitcoin does not carry.
The purpose differs: BTC is used mainly as a long-term reserve, while XRP is aimed at moving value between currencies almost instantly, as a bridge in international payments. Comparing them is comparing "storing value" with "moving value fast".
