Market outlook (editorial)

Quant at a glance
Overledger: an "operating system" across blockchains
Quant is not a blockchain of its own but an interoperability layer for enterprises. Its core technology, Overledger, works like an operating system that connects several different networks and legacy financial systems through "gateways" and APIs, without forcing applications to lock into a single chain. That enterprise- and bank-oriented approach is its differentiator versus consumer DeFi projects.
A fixed and very small supply
QNT's maximum supply is fixed at 14,612,493 tokens, a small cap for an infrastructure asset, with nearly all the supply already circulating. That scarcity by design is a trait of its own tokenomics, though it in no way guarantees any price outcome, which is volatile.
QNT as an access license to Overledger
QNT's utility is not to pay a network's gas but to access Overledger: gateway operators must hold and spend QNT to pay the yearly licenses that grant them access to the platform. That is why its demand hinges on real enterprise adoption of Overledger, a risk of reliance on one specific use case worth keeping in mind.
What can you do with Quant?
Connect apps to several blockchains at once
Quant's core use is to let an enterprise application operate across several different networks through Overledger, without having to integrate separately with each one. It is an infrastructure utility meant to cut the cost of working with multiple blockchains.
Deploy an Overledger "gateway"
Companies that want to use Overledger deploy a gateway and, to do so, need QNT to pay the access license. It is the use that gives the token real demand, tied to the activity of enterprise clients on the platform.
Move data and assets between legacy and crypto networks
Overledger is designed to bridge traditional financial systems and different blockchains, so that data and assets can flow between them. It is a use case aimed at banking and enterprise, rather than the retail DeFi user.
