Its main goal is to give the community a real voice in key project decisions, allowing users to vote on development proposals, protocol improvements, and the use of the common treasury, all without relying on a centralised entity. This voting system is integrated into the blockchain itself, ensuring transparency and resistance to manipulation. The DCR token is used to participate in governance and in the validation of transactions through a hybrid consensus system that combines proof of work (PoW) and proof of stake (PoS).
