Jupiter is the leading decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator on Solana: it is not a liquidity pool of its own but a router that compares prices across many DEXs on the network and splits an order across several routes to get the best possible price on each swap. Running on Solana, Jupiter relies on a network with near-instant finality, often under one second, and very low fees per operation. That lets it execute complex routes split across several pools without the cost blowing up, something hardly viable on slower or pricier chains. JUP is Jupiter's governance token, with a total supply of 10 billion, of which around half was allocated to the community.
