Why look for a Revolut alternative?
You open Revolut for the card and, on the side, buy a little bitcoin. It all fits until you want to send those coins to your wallet and discover the button depends on your plan, your country and the coin — with a service fee on top of the network fee. That clash — convenient banking, conditional crypto — is what pushes you to look for an alternative. Revolut publishes on revolut.com/crypto/tiered-pricing how fees shift by plan and volume; worth reading before assuming the crypto tab costs the same as Revolut X.
Millions of people use Revolut every day for banking: accounts, cards, FX. The MiCA permit it obtained via CySEC in 2025 makes it legal across the EU. The question is not whether it can operate, but whether it fits when crypto stops being an extra and you want real ownership, predictable fees and someone on the phone who understands a congested network. Revolut documents external withdrawal on help.revolut.com with plan, country and coin requirements; Revolut X concentrates the exchange with maker/taker fees in a separate app, distinct from the standard plan’s crypto tab.
In this guide we compare, with public and verifiable data, how Bit2Me stacks up against Revolut on what really matters to a crypto investor: who custodies your coins, what you really pay per trade and how much control you have to move them whenever you want.
Why so many people doubt Revolut
Crypto as a feature, not the core
It sits next to salary, cards and FX. That simplifies a first buy, but falls short on networks, staking or specialist custody.
Withdrawals depend on eligibility
The send button exists or not depending on plan, country and coin — with a service fee on top of the network fee. Check before you need to move funds.
The best fee behind another door
The standard plan sits around 1.49%; Revolut X improves pricing, but splits the experience into another app and another banking context.
Public record
Reputation and documented facts about Revolut
Sanctions, incidents or controversies recorded in official sources or verifiable media. Bit2Me does not pass judgment: we cite public facts.
The UK FCA imposed marketing restrictions on high-risk crypto-assets for Revolut and other fintechs serving retail clients in the UK.

These records do not rule out the competitor being suitable in other contexts; they are part of the due diligence worth doing before depositing funds.
Verdict
Revolut holds MiCA via CySEC: on regulation, a tie. If you want salary, cards and small crypto exposure without leaving the app → Revolut. If crypto stops being a tab — withdrawing without plan conditions, fees without a Metal subscription, custody and support that speak blockchain → Bit2Me.

A crypto licence inside a bank: Revolut’s MiCA permit
Inside the Revolut app, two regimes coexist that users rarely tell apart: the euros in your account live in the banking world, with its own guarantees, while your crypto depends on a different permit and different rules. Its European entity operates under MiCA authorisation — the EU’s crypto-asset regulation — via the Cypriot regulator (CySEC), as specialist media reported. Revolut’s crypto tab operates fully licensed in Europe, although for the user it remains exactly that: one more tab between the card and the currency exchange.
The comparison with Bit2Me is not about who holds paperwork — both do — but about what each licence covers. The authorisation the CNMV granted Bit2Me under that same regulation does not cover a tab; it covers the whole house: a Spanish company dedicated exclusively to crypto-assets since 2014, with the supervisor of your own market as your direct counterpart if you ever need to file a claim. Against Revolut’s scheme — banking on one side, crypto on another, regulator in Cyprus — here activity, company and supervisor all point to a single place.
On regulation there is no loser: both meet the EU standard. Choose by what reassures you more: the solidity of a bank that has added crypto, or a specialist whose only business is precisely that.
Getting crypto out of Revolut: the small print of the “eligible customer”
The key question for any Revolut user holding crypto is whether they can send it out. Today the official answer is “it depends”: per its help centre, withdrawing to an external wallet is available for specific cryptocurrencies and networks, only for customers on eligible plans and countries, and with a service fee added to the network fee. In practice, you open the app and the send button exists or not depending on where you live, which plan you pay for and which coin you hold. The progress deserves credit — for years that door did not exist at all — but it remains a door with conditions, worth checking before you need it.
On the other side, that same door is open by default: any Bit2Me customer can withdraw their crypto to their own wallet across more than 100 blockchain networks, with no minimum plan and no country list, paying the network fee. And while you leave them put, funds do not sit on a banking app’s balance sheet: they are held mostly in cold storage — keys disconnected from the internet — and Bit2Me Custody assets are covered by a $150 million policy. Self-custody, that is, holding your own keys, is not a plan perk: it is the product’s natural exit.
If your plan is to buy and never move, Revolut’s built-in custody may be enough. The day you want your keys, the difference between a right and an eligibility checkbox shows in full.
From 1.49% to 0.09%: Revolut’s price ladder, plan by plan
The price of crypto at Revolut is read off its subscription table. Per its official site, the per-trade fee starts at around 1.49% on the standard plan and drops to about 0.99% on Premium and Metal, with further volume tiers; on top may come the spread, the difference between the price you buy at and the price you sell at. Translated: €1,000 of bitcoin on the free plan costs about €14.90 in fees, and someone buying every month repeats that toll on every entry. And for those who take trading seriously, the house has another door: Revolut X, its separate exchange, at 0% maker / 0.09% taker — maker if your order adds liquidity to the market, taker if it takes it — a genuinely competitive price that requires installing another app.
Against that ladder, Bit2Me’s pricing is a flat, public sheet: up to 0% maker / 0.10% taker on liquid Pro pairs — that same €1,000 trade costs €1 —, from 0.1% to 0.95% in the simple interface depending on the pair, and free SEPA deposits. No monthly quota lowers your fee and there is no second app to install: the exchange price list is the starting point, not the prize for upgrading your plan.
There is room for the rival to win here: if you already pay for Metal anyway and Revolut X covers your pairs, its numbers hold up against anyone, Bit2Me included. For those who would rather not tie their fee to a subscription, the flat sheet wins.

The same chat for a lost card and for the blockchain
When something goes wrong at Revolut, the route is the in-app chat: the same channel — and often the same queue — for a duplicate card, a held SEPA transfer or a crypto transaction pending on the blockchain. Its help centre is extensive, but support is sized for a generalist banking app with millions of customers, and crypto is one topic among dozens: the person replying does not necessarily know a congested network from a forgotten destination tag.
That conversation changes when the whole team does a single thing: Bit2Me support answers by Without chat-only: multilingual support, and whoever picks up works daily with networks, withdrawals and staking. The same doubt — “why has my transaction been pending for an hour?” — goes from a generalist chat queue to a specialist answer on the first call.
For banking incidents, Revolut’s chat is more than enough. For moving your savings across chains, a specialist on the phone plays in a different league.
Is Revolut’s crypto tab enough for you? It depends on who you are
If your relationship with crypto amounts to a few hundred euros in bitcoin sitting next to your salary, your cards and your FX, Revolut wins: opening another account for a position you check twice a year makes little sense. That is its natural use case, and it handles it very well.
The picture changes with recurring buying. Someone investing every month pays around 1.49% per trade on Revolut’s standard plan — less on Premium or Metal — and that improvement requires a monthly subscription. On Bit2Me Pro the same habit costs up to 0% maker / 0.10% taker on liquid pairs with no plan attached: your rate does not depend on what you pay for your banking.
And if you want to truly own your coins, the difference is structural: at Revolut, withdrawing to an external wallet depends on your plan, your country and that specific coin being eligible, with a service fee added; at Bit2Me it is the norm, across more than 100 networks, for every account.
The bill for moving your crypto out of Revolut, step by step
Before moving, it pays to know what you will find. On-chain withdrawal from Revolut is not universal: per its help centre, it covers only certain coins and networks, requires an eligible plan and country, and adds a service fee on top of the network fee. Step one is opening their app and checking whether your specific case is on the list.
If your coin or plan is not there, the fallback route is selling to euros and sending them via SEPA. It works, with one important nuance: selling crystallises gains or losses and may have tax implications, so get advice before executing. Once at Bit2Me, that toll drops off the map: you rebuy, custody and withdraw to your wallet without ever again asking what your plan allows. Those who already master Revolut X — the separate app with 0% maker / 0.09% taker — can combine both worlds, but remain subject to each one’s withdrawal rules.
Which one to choose? It depends on your profile
Bit2Me — pros
- Earn staking with visible conditions under MiCA — not an extra inside Revolut’s banking tab.
- Automatic tax reporting — without rebuilding activity split between Revolut and Revolut X.
- Pro, Earn, Card and Wallet in one app — without installing Revolut X for exchange rates.
- On-chain withdrawal by default — no selling to euros or crossing eligibility lists.
- Crypto specialist on the phone when a destination tag blocks your send — not Revolut’s card chat.
Revolut — things to consider
- Convenient all-in-one finance app for small amounts.
- Non-specialised crypto; limited exchange features and conditional wallet withdrawals.
When to choose Revolut?
- You want one app for daily banking, cards and small crypto without specialising.
- You prefer keeping fiat accounts, FX and crypto in one super-app even if spreads are higher than on a specialist exchange.
- You want banking, card and crypto in one app and do not need self-custody withdrawals.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for a Revolut alternative because you care about European regulation, predictable fees, the safety of your funds and support in your language, Bit2Me addresses exactly those needs.

What people who already switched say
