About Bio Protocol

Bio Protocol is a platform designed to accelerate scientific development through the decentralised funding and management of biotechnological projects. Its aim is to enable global communities of scientists, patients, and investors to collaborate on the creation and shared ownership of new drugs and therapies through decentralised autonomous organisations specialised in biotechnology, known as BioDAOs. The native token of Bio Protocol, called BIO, fulfils essential functions within the ecosystem. In addition to facilitating transactions, it grants its holders governance rights, allowing them to influence key decisions such as the selection of BioDAOs to support and the allocation of resources for the development of intellectual property assets. This approach seeks to democratise scientific research and encourage active community participation in biotechnological innovation.
